“Honour where honour is due:” the “Millionth” BAR

Browning is particularly proud and pleased to inform you that the millionth Browning Automatic Rifle, better known as the BAR has left its production units.

In fact, since 1967 Browning’s workshops have produced this exceptional weapon non-stop, which has delighted over a million hunters. What other big game rifle manufacturer can pride itself on such a record of achievements?

The success is undoubtedly due to the quality of it reliability and accuracy, which are recognized by all.  The BAR is unquestionably the best known rifle in the World.  The FN group’s experience in rifles has greatly contributed to creating a product whose robustness and lifespan stand up to any test.  Right from the very beginning, the BAR has been a reference in the field of Semi-Auto magnum caliber rifles and with time the .300 Win Mag caliber model has been attached to other versions so that today it can offer a very fill range in a wide variety of calibers.

To commemorate this event, Browning has decided to produce the “Millionth” BAR.

This is a unique item which is made on mechanics identical to the original models.  That is a BAR MK 1 .300 Win Mag Caliber with its receiver, magazine base and trigger guard made of greyed steel.

This “one of one” weapon will bear the serial number BAR1000000 and is fitted with “exhibition” grade, traditionally oil-rubbed, burr walnut, finely checkered and sculpted in the same style as the engraving’s ornamentation.

The latter is the work of Dany Matagne, Browning Custom-Shop’s official master engraver.  It represents a part of the FN-Browning’s weapons history associating the gunsmith craftsmen’s attitude and the symbols which are important to Browning such as the portrait of John Moses Browning, the companies’ acronyms, and the old sip windows.

 These different elements are framed by the hollow bottomed engraving in the “Rococo” style, set off by the inscriptions inlaid with gold.
